Romantic Baker’s Cay Resort Wedding | Kylie & Jason

Kylie and Jason’s Baker’s Cay Resort wedding was vibrant, romantic and had a magical energy all throughout. When I first met Kylie, I immediately knew she was going to be such a fun bride to work with. Throughout the entire call, I could not stop laughing, she had the best energy! Kylie was a destination bride from Texas. She initially learned about us through Baker’s Cay preferred vendor’s list and when looking at our work on social media, she knew we were the ones for her. At the time of our first call I was nine months pregnant and about to pop! As we were chatting I warned her that if she didn’t receive our proposal in the promised time frame, it was because I went into labor…and guess what, I did! Just a few days after our initial consultation my husband and I welcomed our first little girl into the world!

A few weeks later, I took some time to reach back out to Kylie with her proposal and mood board, and she immediately loved everything we put together for her. We went through a few revisions together to make sure that it was absolutely perfect, and shortly after we were officially her floral designers!

Throughout the planning process, we frequently communicated with Kylie. She reached out to us a few months before with a request to make some changes to her original proposal. She came to us and explained that she really just wanted us to take control over the entire vision, and do whatever we needed in order to make her day spectacular. We took the reins and immediately suggested we make some adjustments. In her original proposal, she had wanted to repurpose her bridesmaids bouquets as the guest table centerpieces. After Kylie's request, we suggested to have the bridesmaids bouquets be the cocktail table centerpieces and then really go all out on some beautiful arrangements for the reception guest tables. Kylie loved this idea and fully trusted us to just design what we thought would look beautiful while keeping her color palette in mind.

One of the elements we added to the original proposal was the sweetheart table ground arrangement.

When couples really place their trust in us and allow us to execute their vision, that's when we as designers are truly are able to do our best work. We’re able to work with flowers that the bride may have no idea even exist. The more that couples want to control exact choices, the less magic we are able to create. Kylie’s creative freedom and trust really allowed us to use some super special flowers such as coral charm peonies, Icelandic poppies and gorgeous butterfly ranunculus. Making for some truly whimsical vibrant garden style arrangements.

It was also really important to Kylie that her bride bouquet be very special. She wasn’t exactly sure what she wanted but she did know that she wanted greenery and beautiful vibrant flowers. We saved some of the most extra special blooms to use in her bouquet, and I think this has been one of my all time favorites. It was perfect for Kylie and was so beautiful as she held it on her walk down the aisle.

Kylie's bouquet included peonies, various ranunculus and roses.

The showstopper though (in our opinion) was the ceremony love tree! Once we had finished setting up indoors, we moved our way down to Hammock Beach where we began building the love tree installation directly on site. We always like to design this on site rather than ahead of time since it really allows us to create our design as close to nature as possible. Our goal whenever we design on this tree is to make it seem as though there is just a beautiful patch of flowers magically growing out from this exact spot. We used over 3 variations of roses and over 100 stems of blooms to achieve this look, the tones of the flowers also complimented the setting sun so perfectly, it’s like they were color matched! It’s always a labor of love designing on this tree (especially when it starts to pour down rain right as we start working), but the final product really makes for a show stopping piece. It will completely enchant your guests and make your photos really stand out. This is one piece I always encourage my Baker’s Cay couples to splurge a bit more on! Watching Kylie walk down the aisle towards the love tree as the waves were gently crashing against the shore and the sun was just starting to set, really made for a magical ceremony.

Kylie and Jason, thank you for being such a spectacular couple to work with. Knowing that you fully trusted us with our work and giving us full control over the design really allowed us to create some magic! We are so happy for you both and wish you so many blessings as you embark on your new journey as husband and wife

XoXo,
